Lot’s of stuff has been going on since my last update on here, so here is the latest!
I’ve been in the process of applying for jobs over the past week, and within the last few days I’ve already scheduled my first job interview for next week! Praise the Lord for swift responses!
Our car is still in the shop, but we went and saw it a few days ago. We found out that the differential apparently broke in the transmission, and in the process managed to poke a rather sizeable hole in the transmission housing!

And last but certain not least… I’m now officially the ‘Creative Arts Pastor’ for Genesis Church, in Asheboro, NC! I’ve been leading worship there since last fall, and now I’m officially a staff member! It’s been great working with the pastor (Justin Tarlton), but now it just feels more ‘official’.
Don’t forget about the show tonight in Statesville @ Youth Warehouse!

Here’s a picture of the wonderful sand & ocean at Myrtle Beach.

Here’s a picture of our car, the day after the clutch exploded about 2 miles away from the place we were staying. Thankfully we had friends nearby who were able to tow the car to the condo, and then my brother-in-law helped us get it home.

The gig didn’t quite work out either (had to take care of car related stuff in an emergency-type format), but me & the Mrs. still had a great time enjoying the ocean and working on our tan! Praise the Lord for surf & sun…

Today is the day that my wife and I head out to the beach! Woohoo!
I can’t think of a better place to be heading this time of year, when the temps start hittin’ the 80’s, the grass pollen starts kicking back up, and the call of the salt water starts whispering in my ear.
I’ll be playing at Fresh Brewed Coffee House at Myrtle Beach on Saturday, so why not take a vacation yourself? We’ll be coming back with pictures and such from the trip, so don’t worry if you can’t make it.
I still have pictures from the last two gigs to post, but I’ll be getting those up when we get back from our trip.
YAY for the beach!

I was taking my wife to work in our car this morning. It was a fairly normal morning for us, with little to no unexpected twists or turns. I backed the car up, put it into gear, and glided gently down the driveway. Our drive is rather steep, so there’s usually a bit of a bump at the bottom where it meets the road. I anticipated the bump, but this morning we had a bump and a loud scratch. We proceeded a bit down the road, and realized that something was not right.

I had a great time playing at The Masters Loft in Winston Salem this past Friday night. I will be posting some pictures and a video from the evening soon. In the mean time, here’s a picture of my nephew and I that my wife took.

My wife and I were shopping at a local store near our home, randomly looking at the cool & humorous merchandise. We saw some MONSTERMOUSLY LARGE fly swatters, some really ugly coffee mugs (even for patriotic stuff it was bad), and all sorts of old movies that I’ve never heard of before (probably for good reason!).
One item we came across nearly made us ROFL in the middle of the store… Read the rest of this entry »

Here’s a video my wife recorded from the gig last night at Moby’s. A big thanks to the folks at Moby’s for letting me play there, and a big thanks to my wife for recording the video!

I’m not entirely sure what it is about trains that has always fascinated me. Maybe it’s the fact that one or two engines can pull a hundred cars at one time, at a rather steady speed, all the way across the country. Maybe it’s the whole fascination with mechanical stuff that intrigues most boys / men. Maybe it’s something more.
